Berend is Managing Partner at Clairfield International in Austria. He is a corporate finance specialist and has over 20 years of experience in M&A, strategic and cross border acquisitions, capital raisings and restructurings with a focus on Western and Central Europe.

He held various senior management and managing director positions in corporate finance and mergers and acquisition advisory. He worked as Director at Investment Fund Sector Capital in Moscow and later as Director Poland at the European Privatization & Investment Corporation (EPIC). As one of the founders of COM Partners, he specialized on midmarket M&A advisory in the dynamic Tech sector and with his firm he joined the international network of Clairfield International in 2015. Berend was born in the Netherlands and holds a degree in Economics at the University of Groningen.

Kai-Peter Burger is Managing Partner at Clairfield International in Austria. He has been advising on cross-border mergers & acquisitions and finance raisings in Austria and the CEE region for over twenty years.

Kai was trained at Price Waterhouse in business valuations and at the European Privatization & Investment Corporation (EPIC) in M&A advisory services for the energy sector. As one of the founding partners of COM Partners in Vienna, he followed his affinity for the tech sector and advised on mid-market transactions primarily in the internet, media and software & IT sectors in Austria and in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2016, Kai joined with his firm Clairfield International as a partner in Vienna. He studied at Vienna University of Economics and Business and at HEC Paris with a focus on corporate finance.

Oliver Nemes is Managing Partner at Clairfield International in Hungary. He has more than 20 years of experience in advising on mid-cap M&A transactions and finance raisings in Hungary and the CEE region.

Oliver started his career in 1993 at PwC where he focused on corporate finance and corporate recovery, working in Vienna and London. Joining the European Privatization & Investment Corporation (EPIC) some years later, he worked as Director for CEE on privatization and corporate finance transactions in Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. After establishing the Budapest office of COM Partners, he continued to dedicate his work to M&A advisory services in the CEE region. He is an expert for sell-side and buy-side M&A, capital raisings, MBOs, MBIs, and business development and has a sector focus in internet, e-commerce, automotive suppliers, energy, and healthcare. In 2016, Oliver’s firm joined Clairfield International as a partner in Budapest. Oliver graduated with a master’s degree in business administration with a focus on corporate finance from the European Business School (EBS) in London.

Florin Bolchis is our Managing Partner for the Bucharest office bringing over 25 years’ experience in strategy consulting, M&A and executive management. He has worked with large multinationals, financial institutions and private equity funds across four continents and has led several successful investments rounds in Romania. Prior to Clairfield, Florin was the CEO of one of Romania’s largest facility management companies with over 1500 employees. He holds a BA and MA degree from Magdalene College, University of Cambridge.

Before working for Clairfield International, Zolt Lakatos has been Deputy CEO for four years at the Széchenyi Bank and, additionally, has been working as the Head of Lending & Investment Transactions for MFB Hungarian Development Bank for eight years. Furthermore, he was an active member of the Board of Directors at Credit Suisse First Boston. Zolt studied Management at the KVI College at Budapest and at the Finance & Accounting College and also graduated with an MBA at the Case-Western Reserve University. He speaks Hungarian, English, Serbian and Russian fluently.
